Band members can apparently record a well-oiled roots rock record even at a distance from each other. A Sign From God (Livestock) by Esquela is proof. John "Chico" Finn messed around with the microphone, MacBook and Protools. During the recording of the first track of the album, all power went out due to a heavy thunderstorm. After saving the basics of his songs on vocals and acoustic guitar, he sent the files to producer Eric "Roscoe" Ambel. He forwarded it to the other band members, who also started working with it at home. As said, it rocks like they were in the studio together. With frayed edges, we are talking about roots rock here after all. Finn shares the lead vocals with Becca Frame. And Ambel is playing along nicely on electric guitar. Nice picture from New York state.
